I am on light duty due to a work related injury. I am on light duty but I am a little confused on what that means besides not lifting over 10 pounds. I am in NY. I have a workers comp lawyer already. I am being threaten to be fired. Any help would be great.

depending on the type of job, light duty is mostly defined/limited by the doctor. it usually means you can do limited work, as long as you do not further aggravate your injury…you can do desk work…you can’t go lift weights
The term “light duty” has a lot of different meanings, but it depends on your employment setting and what kind of job you usually do. “Light duty” usually refers to a temporary assignment that is physically (or mentally) less demanding than your normal job duties. Since you have an attorney, however, ask them to define for you EXACTLY what “light duty” means for YOU in your situation. Then abide by their advice! That’s their job and they want to win your case for you, right? They should know.
